Serving The East End

The East End, 83712: Warm Springs, Table Rock and the Old Penitentiary

83712 is the East End and the foothills above it. Warm Springs Avenue runs out past the Natatorium and the golf course, the Old Idaho Penitentiary and the Idaho Botanical Garden sit at the foot of Table Rock, and the Military Reserve and Castle Rock hold the ridges above. It is one of the smallest residential ZIPs in the city, under nine thousand people.

How far is Ontario from Warm Springs Avenue?

It is one of the longer runs from the city. The quickest line is back through downtown to the Connector, which feeds I-84 on the west side, then west through Nampa and Caldwell. Broadway south to its interchange works as well from the Table Rock end.

Allow a little over an hour with a trailer. Most of our customers from this ZIP book a test ride and a service visit together so the trip does two jobs.

What can you ride from the top of the East End?

Rocky Canyon Road. It leaves the end of the pavement above the Military Reserve and climbs a dirt grade to Aldape Summit, then drops to Robie Creek and Highway 21. From the summit the Boise Ridge road runs along the crest toward Bogus Basin.

That is dual-sport country: a street-legal Honda CRF300L or a KTM 500 EXC covers it and rides home on pavement. Check the seasonal gate dates before you go.

Is a street-legal bike worth it for this ZIP?

For a rider who lives this close to Rocky Canyon, yes. It removes the trailer from the trip, and the foothill roads start ten minutes from the door.

We carry dual-sport models from Honda, Kawasaki, KTM and Suzuki. Ride two of them on our track before you pick, since seat height and weight matter on a loose climb.

About an hour and ten minutes west, down through downtown to the Connector and I-84.
