The Bench, 83705: Vista, Sunrise Rim and the Airport Side of Town

83705 covers the Bench, the tableland south of downtown that rises above the river valley. Vista Avenue runs up its middle, Owyhee Park, Franklin Park and Cassia Park break up the older blocks, and the neighborhoods of Central Bench and Sunrise Rim sit between them and the airport runways.

What is the drive like from the Bench?

Short to the freeway. Vista Avenue drops you onto I-84 at its own interchange beside the airport, and from there it is interstate the rest of the way: past the Meridian and Nampa exits, through Caldwell, and down to the Snake River bridge into Oregon.

From Sunrise Rim or the airport side of the ZIP, the ramp is a few minutes from the driveway, which makes a same-day test ride an easy afternoon.

Where can a Bench rider go without crossing downtown?

South and west. Kuna is twenty minutes off the Bench, and past Kuna the Swan Falls road drops into the Snake River canyon at Swan Falls Dam, inside the Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey area. The canyon road is steep, narrow and scenic, a good first outing on a dual-sport bike.

The desert above the canyon is conservation ground with rules of its own. Check the posted routes before you unload.

What makes the drive west worth it from the Bench?

Seat time. Our track sits behind the building, and a Bench buyer comparing a Kawasaki Teryx with a Can-Am Commander can drive both over the same ground in one visit rather than taking two salespeople's word for it.

Parts and service carry no sales tax on our side of the line. For a household that rides every weekend, the savings on tires and a winter service add up over a season.

About an hour west from the Vista Avenue interchange, a straight interstate run.
