Serving Harris Ranch and Barber Valley
Harris Ranch and Barber Valley, 83716: Where the City Meets the Reservoirs
83716 starts at Harris Ranch, the Barber Valley and Columbia Village and runs out a long way past them. At over a thousand square miles, it takes in Lucky Peak and its state park, the Oregon Trail Reserve, the Micron campus, Robie Creek, and the ranch country at Mayfield. It crosses into Boise and Elmore counties before it ends.
Is Ontario too far from Harris Ranch?
It is the longest drive from any Boise ZIP to our lot, and we will say so. You join I-84 at Gowen Road, where Highway 21 meets the freeway, and cross the whole valley westbound through Meridian, Nampa and Caldwell before the Oregon line.
Our Mountain Home store is closer to this ZIP. It carries Can-Am, CFMOTO, Ski-Doo, Suzuki, SSR and Kayo. The Ontario lot adds Polaris, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Lynx, Sea-Doo and Yamaha WaveRunner, so the drive west is worth it for those makes.
What riding starts in this ZIP?
More than any other Boise ZIP. Highway 21 runs past Lucky Peak up to Idaho City and the Boise Basin trails. The road along Arrowrock Reservoir follows the river up into the old mining country past it. From Mayfield, at the south end, the Danskin trails climb into the Boise National Forest.
Lucky Peak is also the nearest water for a Sea-Doo or WaveRunner, twenty minutes from Harris Ranch.
What should a Barber Valley rider buy for the Arrowrock road?
Something with cooling, range and tires that survive sharp rock. The run upriver past Arrowrock is long, remote and hard on a belt, so a utility side-by-side with a winch fits it better than a sport model built for dunes.
Ask about fuel range before the season, and carry enough for the round trip.
About an hour and a quarter west, across the city on I-84 from the Gowen Road interchange.
