Oreana: Owyhee Front Riding, and a Long Way From Anywhere

Oreana is a store, a historic church and a lot of country. What it has in abundance is access: Hart Creek, Sinker Creek and the climb up onto the Owyhee front start essentially at the end of the road, and the ground above opens into some of the emptiest riding in southwest Idaho.

Empty is the operative word. Machines that break out here break a long way from help, which puts recovery gear, fuel range and honest maintenance ahead of horsepower on the list of things that matter.
