The 2021 YXZ1000R is a two-seat pure sport side-by-side for drivers who want to row their own gears through dunes, desert and tight woods. Yamaha built it around an inline three-cylinder engine with a DOHC head, 11.3:1 compression, dry-sump oiling and a 10,500 rpm redline. A five-speed sequential manual uses a foot-operated hydraulic clutch. On-Command 4WD lets you switch between 2WD, 4WD limited-slip and 4WD with full diff lock. New for 2021, FOX 2.5 Podium RC2 shocks bring full adjustment at all four corners with 16.2 in of front travel and 17.0 in at the rear. Speed-sensitive EPS, 29 in Maxxis Bighorn radials on 14 in alloy wheels and a 300 lb cargo rack complete the package, assembled in Newnan, Georgia.
